Matushka Delores Marie Bowers Donlick, formerly of Lake Ariel, PA, wife of Archpriest Daniel Donlick, peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on the morning of July 28, 2023.

As a teenager, Delores went to summer camp at St. Andrews Camp, Syracuse, NY where she developed a close relationship with the now Archpriest Daniel Kalena Donlick, Academic Dean Emeritus, Saint Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, South Canaan, PA. Their love story began on July 25, 1964. Together Matushka Delores and Father Daniel just recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.

Born in Binghamton, NY, Delores was the only child born to the late Russell and Mary Bock Bowers and was a 1960 graduate of Central High School, Binghamton, NY.  After graduation, she received her cosmetology certificate.  Matushka retired from Clarks Summit State Hospital, where she was a supervisor of the health and cosmetology department, and she lovingly cared for her patients.  She was also a part time hostess at the Hideout Club House Restaurant, where she made many friends. Matushka assisted Father Daniel during his parish assignments, first at Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church, Olyphant, PA from 1965 to 1971, then at Saint Michael’s Orthodox Church, Jermyn, PA from 1971 to 1978.  In 1978, Father Daniel was assigned to Saint Tikhon’s Seminary administration as the Academic Dean, while also serving the mission parish Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, in Stroudsburg, PA.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, David (Doreen) and their children, Nicole (Andrew), Brodt and David Nicholas; Daniel II, Deborah (Vickie) and Thomas (Melissa) and their children, Lindsey Marie and Thomas.

Family and friends may call Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Monastery Chapel of Saint Tikhon of Zadnosk, 175 Saint Tikhon’s Road, Waymart, PA 18472 and on Monday from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Monastery Church.  The Burial service will begin at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be in the monastery cemetery.
