Father Antony (Ronald) Frank Gori fell asleep in the Lord on November 13, 2023. He was born May 18, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the only child of Andrew Gori and Nancy Visci. From an early age, Father Antony lived a faith-filled life, with a contagious smile.

He graduated from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY, where he met his wife, Beverly [Jensen]. They married on June 22, 1968. Shortly after, Father. Antony was drafted to serve as an Operating Room Technician in Vietnam with the U.S. Army from 1969-1972. During his military service, Beverly and he had the first of their four children.

Upon completion of his tour of duty, Father Antony began missionary work in the Southwest for the Roman Catholic church among the Navajo. Eventually, they settled in Collinsville, CT, where he worked as a Director of Religious Education and then was employed by the State of Connecticut.

Once his children were grown, Father Antony studied and graduated from Saint Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in Yonkers, NY. He was ordained to the priesthood in the Orthodox Church of America. Father Antony and Matushka Beverly moved to Carver, MA, where he served for almost 3 years as pastor of Saint Mark of Ephesus Mission in Kingston, MA.

During his earlier years, Father Antony was a voracious reader with an appetite for knowledge. He enjoyed singing during lively Wednesday family nights and at church with his wife. Most importantly, he was a deeply loving husband, father, and grandfather.

During the final ten years of his life Father Anthony suffered from Parkinson’s Disease. During this difficult time he was supported by his wife and the deep faith he had since his childhood.

Father Antony is survived by his wife, Matushka Beverly; daughters Miriam, and her two children, Riain and Lily, of Carver, MA; Jennifer and her spouse, of Jamaica Plain, MA; and Clare Desrosiers, her husband Joseph, and their eleven children, Amile, Jean-Luc, Dylan, Isaac, Shawn, Mireille, Arielle, Kara, Marianna, Erik, and Annalise of Linneus, ME; and his son, Andrew, and his wife, Ambre, of Los Angeles, CA.

Funeral services will commence at Saint Mark of Ephesus Church at 261 Main Street, Kingston, MA 02364 with a Visitation from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM and a Rite of Burial for a Priest at 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 26, 2023 and a Divine Liturgy and Litya for the Departed at 9:30 AM on Monday, November 27, 2023 followed by a Burial at Veterans Adminstration National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
